KINGSTON COMMUNITY CARE

Welcome to the Kingston Community Care Portal, your ongoing source of community information and support during the COVID-19 outbreak, and a hub to bring us all together during the coming weeks. Check back for daily alerts and updates to stay informed in the categories of interest to you. We’re also building a Q&A page, so if you have questions related to Coronavirus and our community, click here to send us an email. We’re here for you.

SPOTLIGHT:

WELLNESS CHECKS

We will begin contacting Seniors who have indicated they have special needs in times like these. We are now extending these wellness checks to all Seniors over 65, as well as residents with special needs (i.e. physical limitations) in KIngston. Our Community Outreach team will call regularly to check in on their well-being and offer assistance where appropriate. If you fit this profile and want to participate, give us a call at 732-406-6865 and we will add you to the program.

NJ TESTING CENTERS

Where are testing centers in New Jersey?

  • In partnership with FEMA, New Jersey has opened two community-based testing sites for individuals who are experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness. In order to be eligible for testing, individuals must be current New Jersey residents and experiencing symptoms of respiratory illness. Priority will be given to symptomatic individuals experiencing cough, fever (99.6F or above) and shortness of breath.

  • In addition, several New Jersey counties are offering public COVID-19 testing to their own residents            https://covid19.nj.gov/faqs/nj-information/testing-information/where-are-testing-centers-in-new-jersey

HOUSING

  • What housing and rental assistance and mortgage relief is available for New Jerseyans? Are there protections for eviction or foreclosure? On March 19, 2020, Governor Murphy issued Executive Order No. 106, which states that any lessee, tenant, homeowner or any other person shall not be removed from a residential property as the result of an eviction or foreclosure proceeding. Your landlord cannot remove you from your home during this emergency. Read more here:

Counselors will provide assistance to help homeowners avoid potential foreclosure. At the same time, the counseling made available to renters will guide them on how to approach discussions with their landlords on dealing with their rent situation.
